OLD SMITH 90-002 raised 13 million yen for its original crowdfunding release and has remained a bestseller to this day. The OLD SMITH 90-002 is a "field watch" inspired by British military watches from the 1940s to 1970s. The thick numerals and large hour/minute pointers were designed with emphasis on visibility and using orange-tone luminescent paint. The dial has a matte finish to further emulate the designs of the dial of that time. The watch case (made of 316L stainless steel) is intentionally polished to add a little elegance to a robust design.

On this watch, a movement from the Seiko NH series is used (The NH35 for the date version and the NH38 for the dateless version). Seiko's NH movement series is extremely popular used and by microbrands around the world due to its reliability and robustness. The NH movement series are mechanical movements with automatic winding. They have a power reserve of ~40 hours. The NH series also has a "hacking" function, which interrupts the second hand by setting the time for a more precise time setting. For the OLD SMITH 90-002, we exclusively use movements made in Japan.

The current revision of the OLD SMITH 90-002 now comes with Old Radium colored Super-LumiNova® Swiss light. This brand ink lasts about a third longer in low light conditions compared to the original version of our watch. The light is used and both on the hands and the indexes to improve visibility in low light conditions.

This version with green dial only exists with a 35mm case.

The OLD SMITH 90-002 was originally launched with two nylon straps and we still offer this option in the new models. These nylon straps are perfect for the hot summer months and a casual look. We also offer the OLD SMITH 90-002 with Italian leather bracelets or with a classic "beads of rice" metal bracelet.

All OLD SMITH 90-002 watches are assembled by hand by our internally trained watchmakers to ensure the highest possible quality.
