Named after the Sombrero Galaxy, said to be the most beautiful place in space, the SOMBRERO 90-011 is KUOE's first diver-style design to date.

This watch is water resistant up to 20 BAR, shock resistant, has scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and even comes with a magnetic field resistant case, making it KUOE's most definitive "tool watch" to date.

This watch has a compressor-style case design with a 20 BAR water resistance rating. Each watch is pressure tested after assembly to ensure this water resistance. The crown to adjust the inner bezel also screws down, so the scale is not adjusted by mistake. The back of the case is an embossed screw-down back.

The watch dial has a linen finish which gives it a unique texture. The hands and indices are brushed stainless steel that use Old Radium coloured Swiss Super-Luminova for bright and long-lasting illumination. The scale markings also have applied lume.

For the movement of this watch, KUOE has once again opted to adopt the Cal.9039 made by CITIZEN MIYOTA, a Japanese-made "high beat" movement. This movement oscillates 28,800 times per hour (8 times per second), reducing the balance distance and increasing the accuracy of the watch.

The Cal. 9039 is a fairly thin movement, which means that although the watch is 38 mm in diameter, it is only 11 mm thick, not including the crystal. The crystal itself is a box-shaped sapphire crystal and only increases the total thickness to 12.45 mm at its highest point.
