OLD SMITH 90-002 Automatic, Green Dial with Swiss Super-LumiNova

The OLD SMITH 90-002 raised 13 million yen for its original crowdfunding launch and has remained a bestseller to this day. The OLD SMITH 90-002 is a "field watch" inspired by British military watches from the 1940s to the 1970s. The thick numerals and large hour/minute hands were designed with an emphasis on visibility and using orange-toned luminescent paint. The dial has a matte finish to further emulate the dial designs of that era. The watch case (made of 316L stainless steel) is intentionally polished to add a touch of elegance to a robust design.

This watch uses a Seiko NH series movement (the NH35 for the date version and the NH38 for the no-date version). The Seiko NH movement series is extremely popular and used by micro-brands worldwide due to its reliability and robustness. The NH movement series are mechanical movements with automatic winding. They have a power reserve of ~40 hours. The NH series also has a "hacking" function, which stops the seconds hand when setting the time for more precise time setting. For the OLD SMITH 90-002, we exclusively use movements made in Japan.

The current revision of the OLD SMITH 90-002 now comes with Swiss Super-LumiNova® colored Old Radium lume. This branded paint lasts about one-third longer in low-light conditions compared to the original version of our watch. The lume is used on both the hands and the indices to improve visibility in low-light conditions.

This version with a green dial only comes with a 35mm case.

The OLD SMITH 90-002 was originally launched with two nylon straps and we still offer this option on the new models. These nylon straps are perfect for the warm summer months and a casual look. We also offer the OLD SMITH 90-002 with Italian leather straps or with a classic "beads of rice" metal bracelet.

This model comes with two "Nato" style straps

All OLD SMITH 90-002 watches are hand-assembled by our in-house trained watchmakers to ensure the highest possible quality.

KUOE was established in the historic Japanese city of Kyoto in 2020. This brand was founded with the vision of launching modern watches that maintain classic designs. We want people around the world to enjoy high-quality classic watches made in Japan.

What a splendid visit to The Watch Garage in Porto. I was greeted by Andre and so happily got to hear about his passion for his collection of watches. I am extremely happy with the Blue Dial Datejust as I have been looking for a color dial all throughout Portugal during my two weeks here. The room is carefully curated with artworks of motorsports, another passion of Andre. Thank you for the wonderful experience!

"Wow! This is such a cool place to check out! So many watches, brands, and history all in one place. This is a definite place you want to stop at on your trip, because it takes you back in time and fits in with the charm of Porto that you just soak in where you are. André was very helpful and informative. My husband picked out this gorgeous watch and had a great experience talking with the owner."
