Our opinion:

A typical dress watch from the 40s/50s with a very special case.
The inside of the case back is marked Longines New York and is 10k gold, which is consistent with watches of the era for the American market where taxes on watches were based on the amount of gold used. Watches for the American market were typically 10k gold, compared to the 18k gold cases used in Europe, to reduce the tax payable. They were usually made in the United States, hence being marked with "New York".
The watch is in very good condition with normal signs of wear and age for a vintage watch.
