Our opinion:

The 40mm rose gold Breguet La Tradition is one of those watches that manages to be both classic and absolutely contemporary. Directly inspired by Abraham-Louis Breguet's pocket watches, it brings the almost "museum-like" architecture of a historical movement to the wrist, but with modern execution, high-level finishes, and a very current use of color and materials.

The 40mm 18-carat rose gold case perfectly balances presence and elegance, striking enough on the wrist to be noticed, yet remaining thin and refined, with the traditional Breguet fluting on the sides and welded lugs that reinforce the feeling of a handcrafted piece. The narrow bezel makes way for the true protagonist: the movement exposed on the dial side, creating the sensation of observing a historical pocket caliber turned over, where bridges, wheels, and barrel are fully visible.

The off-centre black dial, with delicate Roman numerals and steel hands in the unmistakable Breguet style, offers time reading on a higher plane, almost like a small classical island resting on the three-dimensional mechanical landscape. Around it, the plate and bridges feature contrasting finishes, from grenaillage to more discreet côtes, while elements such as the open barrel, the escape wheel, and the balance wheel gain visual prominence, creating depth and a constant play of light and adding movement to the front of the watch in an almost mesmerizing way. The ensemble is completed by a black alligator leather strap, with a rose gold buckle matching the case, underlining the formal and sophisticated character of the watch.
