The Hamilton Khaki Field and Pilot Pioneer Limited Editions For Hodinkee are inspired by the Hamilton 6BB "G.S." Tropicalized British Military Watch Ref. 75003-3.
The Hamilton Khaki Collector’s Set for Hodinkee gives the owner an option of a rugged field watch or an adventure-ready chronograph. The two watches come fashioned in a complementary custom Pelican case. Included in the case is an additional pair of nylon NATO straps, a valet mat, and a set of special edition watch-focused Field Notes. The watches sit in a custom mold that can easily be removed to convert the Pelican case into a storage box.
The Chronograph:
The 40mm brushed and polished stainless steel case is reminscent of chronograph cases produced by Hamilton decades ago. The two-register chronograph layout offers an uncluttered dial crucial for a pilot who must be able to tell the time or running seconds at a quick glance. Inside is the H51-Si movement, based on the ETA 7753; this hand-wound chronograph movement is a true example of a “workhorse.” It boasts a 60-hour power reserve, a silicon hairspring, and up to 100m water resistance. Like its partner, the caseback is engraved with Limited Edition For Hodinkee and individually numbered ###/300.
The Field Watch:
The Hamilton Khaki Field Limited Edition For Hodinkee is a faithful recreation of the aforementioned Hamilton 6BB “G.S.” and features the 38mm stainless steel case with a sandblasted finish - proven comfortable and tough enough for military standards. Equipped with a matte black dial, a creamy white railroad track, and a bright orange seconds hand, the Hamilton Khaki Field Limited Edition For Hodinkee feels just like the original - but built for today. Modern luminous material doesn’t age the way that tritium lume did, so the Super-LumiNova has been colored to match the patinated tone of aged tritium lume, which also helps to pay homage to the original 75003-3 military watch. The contrast of the matte black dial and lumed markers and hands makes for a particularly legible dial - an important feature for evening jaunts through the jungle. To keep things as authentic - and mechanical - as possible, inside is the hand-wound Hamilton Caliber H50, which boasts an impressive 80 hours of power reserve. The back of the case is engraved with “Limited Edition For Hodinkee” and individually numbered ####/1000.
