Our opinion:
Aquastar watches with Portuguese hallmark were known for being used by Portuguese Special forces (Fuzileiros) in the Ultramar war in the former Portuguese colonies of Angola and Mozambique. This is well documented in the book Aquastar, a dive into time by Dr. Peter Millar.
Military watches always carry a special aura and significance and these Aquastar are no exception specially when there are so few records of Portuguese military watches.
Sadly they had no military engravings and the import stamp is the only sign of this because there’s no evidence of these watches ever being sold in Portugal for normal “civilian” use and the ones with hallmark are believed to be a special order for the military.
This example shows some patina on dial and hands but they are all original which is very important. Also it has the depth rating both in meters and feet which is not that common. Case shows some signs of being previously polished. Inner rotating bezel is working and movement keeps good time. Fitted with a period correct tropic strap.
