Derived from the DS-2 Super PH 500M, the DS-2 Super PH 1000M (Reference 5801 302) was introduced in 1970 in Basel. By then, all models had the 25-651 movement. In 1974, the reference numbers were changed and this model was given the reference 919 1301 41.
The DS-2 Super PH 1000M is one of the most over engineered dive watches ever!
But to be water resistant to 1000M in the early 70`s, a watch really had to be very well built! The PH 1000M is one beast of a watch! Measuring at 43mm and an impressive 18mm thick it has a super thick crystal, screw down crown and a rotating bezel with a super complex construction. Powered by the well known and highly used Certina Automatic 25-651 movement.
This watch is certainly a landmark in Certina and dive watch history and only matched by very few other watches.
This watch was fully serviced with a new crystal and gaskets fitted.
There's only a small spot on the dial between the 8 and 9 o'clock markers and a small damage on the side of the bezel above the crown.
A fantastic example and certainly an attention grabber this watch is perfect for any vintage watch collector, specially for the ones who like tool watches. There's really nothing like a PH100 M.
