I have always been an Alain Silberstein fan. No watch maker expresses themselves so creatively. Unfortunately, Mr. Silberstein has retired and his eponymous company is no longer producing watches.
This is a limited edition of 999 watches and this is watch number 4XX. Condition is very good. Case is 38mm diameter by 15mm thick. This is Silberstein’s classic “tuna can” case with straight tubular lugs and decorated geometric crown and chronograph pushers. Sapphire crystals in front and in the display back.
Dial is all black with luminous indexes , red, blue and bright green hands. There is a lot happening on the dial: Day and Month apertures beneath 12 o’clock; moonphase and chronograph 12 hour totalizer at 6 o’clock; running seconds and 24 hour time at 9 o’clock; chronograph minutes totalizer is subdial that surrounds Day and Month apertures; date is indicated at the periphery of the dial with the red crescent tipped hand.
Movement is the Valjoux 7751 calendar chronograph caliber with automatic winding and 17 jewels. Winding rotor is gold and perforated signed with the Alain Silberstein logo.
Original black strap in pre-owned but good condition and with black A.S. buckle. Watch is currently on a black canvas strap.
This is a great watch with tons of personality and quite collectable. Excellent condition, no box or papers.
