The Wittnauer 242T is for me one of the most fascinating chronographs ever and one of my all time favorites.

The 242Ts are quite striking. The lollipop seconds hand and the sunken registers with glossy edges add some nice details and depth to the dial. These chronographs also feature an outer decimal scale. The scale on the dial is broken down by 10ths of a second rather than 60ths. This is because the 242T was geared toward scientific research and testing, allowing the wearer to make more accurate readings with respect to percentages/units per hour.

The best about these chronographs is the amazing patina that develops on the thick lume plots and hands, however very hard to find in pristine conditions.

This is just one of those chronographs that tick all boxes.

This example is one of the best condition we've ever seen.

Unpolished case, fully original, original signed crow, signed beads of rice bracelet and the most perfect set of dial and hands you'll ever find.

A thick lumed handset with lollipop seconds hand, pump pushers, an acrylic crystal, a screw-down case back and a 39mm stainless steel case with nicely chamfered lugs and a 20mm lug width round out the feature set. The watch is powered by the hand-wound Valjoux 72, which has powered some of the world’s most famous chronographs (Rolex Daytona, Heuer Carrera, etc).
