This is certainly a very rare watch and with a fantastic history.
This particular reference was the origin of a Longines reedition, the Heritage 1945, of which you can see some pictures together with our original.
Until now only one watch was known with this particular configuration, the one belonging to a famous watch blogger.
It is a very rare reference to start with, and as you can see by the pictures and the extract information, not even on the case back the reference is engraved but the order number instead. It is believed these watches were made to order only by request of retailers.
Unlike the other model known, this is a 36mm stainless steel case although with the same exact case specifications and dial.
Even numbers indexes, small seconds at 6, blue hands, straight lugs, 12.68Z movement, just absolutely amazing. The dial is more of a gray tone with salmon reflexes.
The smaller size makes it considerably more elegant, specially because of the thinner bezel.
It is all original as can be checked on the Extract of the Archives which accompanies the watch. Made to order in 1949 for the Portuguese agent at the time Teixeira. A special detail is also the hallmark on the top left lug which identified all watches sold in Portugal during many decades. The watch also has it's original box.
Powered by a manual wind Longines caliber 12.68Z, the most amazing 36mm stainless steel case with fat straight lugs, blued hands, hallmark, original box, Extract of the Archives and an amazing story to go with it, being probably the second watch ever found with this configuration!
The stuff of dreams if you ask me and probably one of the best investments you can make on vintage watches. This one simply HAS IT ALL!
